In mid-August we will have the premiere in theaters of the crime thriller Skincarefrom the director Austin Petersthe study IFC Filmsand the protagonist Elizabeth Banks.
The film takes the audience into the beauty business, “beauty is an ugly business,” says one of the lines of the official trailer released in recent weeks.

Banks plays Hope Goldman, who is on the cusp of taking her skincare business to the next level with her own beauty line, until she runs afoul of an unscrupulous rival looking to ruin her reputation. How far will Hope go for revenge?
The cast is made up of Banks (Cocaine Bear, Pitch Perfect), Luis Gerardo Mendez (We the Nobles, Club of Crows), Lewis Pullman (Top Gun: Maverick, Outer Range), Michaela Jae (MJ) Rodriguez (Loot, Pose), y Nathan Fillion (Castle, The Rookie).
OFFICIAL SYNOPSIS:
“Celebrity esthetician Hope Goldman (Elizabeth Banks) is about to take her beauty career to the next level by launching her own skincare line, but her personal and work life are threatened when her rival, esthetician Angel Vergara (Luis Gerardo Mendez), opens a new skincare boutique right across the street from her shop. She begins to suspect that someone is trying to sabotage her reputation and her business, and together with her friend Jordan (Lewis Pullman) she embarks on a mission to unravel the mystery of who is trying to destroy her life…”
Peters directs from a script co-written with Sam Freilich and Deering Regan.

IFC Films premieres Skincare in Select theaters in the United States on August 16, 2024.
