A24 revealed the final trailer for the psychosexual thriller Mother Marywhich premiered in select theaters on April 17, expanding to all movie theaters of the United States this Friday April 24.
The most recent film project of David Lowery (The Green Knight, A Ghost Story), stars Oscar winner Anne Hathawayand the Emmy winner, Michaela Coel (I May Destroy You).
The plot follows a pop star (Hathaway) who, after abandoning her tour due to an existential crisis, seeks out an old friend and fashion designer, Sam (Coel), who helped her create her public persona.
The cast includes Hunter Schafer (Cuckoo, Euphoria) –as Coel's assistant–, FKA Twigs (The Carpenter’s Son), Kaia Gerber (Palm Royale), Jessica Brown Findlay (The Flatshare), Atheena Frizzell (The Green Knight), Isaura Barbé-Brown (The Son), Alba Baptista (Warrior Nun), y Sian Clifford (Fleabag).
By the way, Twigs composed original songs for the film with Jack Antonoff y Charli XCX. Daniel Hart is in charge of the original soundtrack.
The study describes it as:
“It's not a ghost story. It's not a love story. This is a prayer. A song. A dress. A communion. A betrayal. A sacrifice. A rebirth.”

This is Lowery's third feature film with A24, after having made together The Green Knight y A Ghost Story.
He Filming took place in Germany.
Mother Mary in all American cinemas, April 24. We are waiting to know its release date in theaters in Mexico.
