The filmmaker Nia dacosta Return this year with the launch of the drama Heddathat will celebrate its World Cup In the 50th edition of the Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF) in September of this year.
Hedda It is a captivating reinterpretation of Hedda Gabler, of the famous scenic drama of Henrik Ibsen of 1891.
The film starring and produced by Tessa Thompson (Creed, Passing, Westworld) will premiere globally in prime video on October 29, 2025.

“Set on a single intense night, Hedda follows a woman at a breakdown. Hedda Gaber, played by Thompson, is trapped between the pain of an unsolved past and the suffocating stability of her present. While emotions are silenced and the secrets come to light, her internal concern gives way to an outcome that drags everyone around her to a collision of passion, manipulation betrayal. “
Dacosta is the screenwriter and director of Hedda.
The feature film marks the third collaboration between Dacosta and Thompson, after the actress was put under the orders of the filmmaker in The Marvels y Little Woods. Dacosta also directed Candyman In 2021.
This will be Dacosta's first visit to TIFF.
In addition to Thompson, the main cast make it up Imogen Poots (Green Room, 28 Weeks Later, I Know This Much is True), Tom Bateman (Based on a True Story, Death on the Nile), Nicholas Pinnock (Long Bright River, Marcella), y Nina Hoss (Jack Ryan, Make).

The festival will be held from September 4 to September 14 in Toronto, Canada.
