The winning filmmaker of the Oscar, Chloé Zhaoreturn this year with the launch of Hamnet, A lyrical adaptation of the famous novel of Maggie O'Farrell, where the loss of a mother becomes fertile land for art, and of which we already have the first official glances.
The film project is starring Jessie Buckley (MEN, Wicked Little Letters) Interpreting Agnes Shakespearewho Lidia with the heartbreaking death of her son Hamnetwhile Paul Mescal (Gladiator II, Aftersun) embodies a William Shakespeare.
The cast also includes Joe Alwyn (The Brutalist) como Bartholomew, Emily Watson (Dune: Prophecy) like Mary, Jacobi Skirt (Before) as Hamnet, Jack Shalloo (Blitz), y David Wilmot (Station Eleven), among others.

Zhao co -written the script with O'Farrell, adopting what she calls a “fairy tale for adult”, prioritizing emotional truth about historical precision.
The director describes working with Buckley and Mescal as an alchemy: “They gave each other a lot”Zhao declared Vanity Fair.
To make the production possible, an intricate replica was built, at a 70% scale approximately, from the Globe theater of William Shakespeare of around 1600.
