With filming wrapped last June and being in post-production right now, Searchlight Pictures has shared the first official looks at Ready or Not 2: Here I Comethe sequel to the 2019 horror hit, Ready or Notknown in our region as bloody wedding.

The marketing campaign then officially begins with the promotional images shared by People, something that surely means that very soon we will be seeing a teaser trailer or the full trailer.

The sequel features the returns of the co-directors Tyler Gillett y Matt Bettinelli-Olpinand the coguionists Guy Busick y R. Christopher Murphy.

Gillet and Bettinelli-Olpin with the producer Chad Villellathey make up Radio Silence.

The protagonist is also back, Samara Weaving like the final girl, Grace Le Domas. Ready or Not 2 follows Grace after the events of her unforgettable wedding night.

In this new installment, Weaving will be surrounded by a new cast, which includes Kathryn Newton (Abigail, Freaky), Sarah Michelle Gellar (I Know What You Did Last Summer, Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Scream 2), Elijah Wood (The Monkey, The Lord of the Rings), Shawn Hatosy (The Pitt, The Faculty), Nestor Carbonell (Lost, The Morning Show, Shogun), Kevin Durand (Abigail), and the filmmaker specializing in the horror genre, David Cronenberg (The Fly).

In addition to the first glimpses, which you find at the end of the note, Gillet and Bettinelli-Olpin advanced the first details about the sequel to People:

[Ready or Not 2] “goes hand in hand with the first in an unexpected but fluid way.”

“It's exciting to see Grace in a new complicated situation that delves into her story and charactery We wanted to make sure this movie wasn't just more of the same.. We put a lot of love into it to make it a worthy sequel that we hope fans of the first film, and those who meet her for the first time, adore her.”

The filmmakers continued:

“We never imagined that Ready or Not would connect with people as it has in recent years and we are so honored to return to Grace's world.

“The original film truly changed our lives in countless ways and seeing Samara [Weaving] back in that character and in that dress was really special for us.”

Weaving agrees that the reunion was emotional for her and everyone on the team:

“I was a little nervous and I wasn't sure if I would remember what I was doing in the first one, but as soon as I put the dress back on, I was so excited. The complete character returned. In fact, we all got very excited at that test.. Playing the character again is one thing, but working with that team again was the best“.

One of the new additions to the sequel, Newton, added that her character was created specifically for her after working with Gillet and Bettinelli-Olpin on Abigail (2024). In addition, he thanked Weaving for welcoming him:

“I was welcomed into this franchise with so much support and enthusiasm. This cast is a dream. I want to work with Sarah Michelle Gellar and Samara Weaving again and again. Scream Queens, unite!”

The original delivery of 2019, bloody weddingrevolves around Grace (Weaving), a young woman who joins her new husband's very rich and eccentric family. During the wedding night he is asked to participate in a family tradition that quickly turns into a deadly game of kill or be killed.

It had a worldwide box office of $57 million against a budget of just $6 million.

The producers are Tripp Vinson, James Vanderbilt, Bradley J. Fischer, and William Sherak. Executive producers are Villella, Tara Farney, Greg Denny, Busick, Murphy, Weaving, and Paul Neinstein.

Searchlight Pictures is planning the theatrical release of Ready or Not 2: Here I Come for him April 10, 2026.
