'Focker-In-Law' premieres first trailer with Ariana Grande taking the lie detector as “the new Focker”

The circle of trust grew larger.

Universal Pictures visited CinemaCon 2026 in Las Vegas, with the presentation ending just moments ago.

The studio took advantage of the stage to share the first official trailer from one of his high-profile projects this year: Focker-In-Lawknown as The new Focker in our region; This is the fourth installment of the comedy franchise. Meet the Parentsalso known as My girlfriend's family.

The return of the franchise officially began development in December 2025, with premiere set in theaters for November 26 of this yearthat is, the weekend of the Thanksgiving celebration in the United States.

The original stars, Ben Stiller, Teri Polo, Owen Wilson, Blythe Danner y Robert De Nirothey reprise their roles in the sequel, with Skyler Gisondo (Superman, Licorice Pizza), Ariana Grande (Wicked), Beanie Feldstein (Booksmart, Lady Bird) y Eduardo Franco (Booksmart, Y2K, Stranger Things) like the new faces.

Gisondo plays Henry Focker, Feldstein plays Samantha Focker, children of Stiller and Polo's characters, Greg and Pam Focker; Curiously, Gisondo gave life to Stiller's son in Night at the Museum: Secret of the Tomb (2014), while Grande will play Olivia Jones, Henry's fiancee.

The plot revolves around Henry Focker (Gisondo) who is engaged to Olivia Jones (Grande) a stubborn woman who seems to be his total opposite, unleashing family chaos.

The sequel is directed and written by John Hamburgcoguionista of the three previous installments, Meet the Parents, Meet the Fockers y Little Fockers. Hamburg has written other projects starring Stiller such as Zoolanderin addition to having directed it in Along Came Polly.

Meet the Parents focuses on the hilariously awkward and tension-filled dynamic between nurse Greg Focker (Stiller) and his intimidating ex-CIA father-in-law, Jack Byrnes (De Niro), watching as the dynamic between the two evolves and stays the same as Greg marries Jack's daughter, Pam (Polo), and has children with her. Danner plays Jack's wife, Dina.

Upon its theatrical release in 2000, Meet the Parents made over $330 million at the global box office – figures not adjusted for inflation – while box office returns for the 2004 and 2010 sequels led the franchise to gross over $1.13 billion worldwide.

De Niro and Jane Rosenthal return as producers with their company Tribeca Productions, along with Jay Roach – director of the first installment and producer of the franchise – with Delirious Media. Stiller and John Lesher are other producers, for Red Hour Films, and Hamburg for Particular Pictures.

Universal Pictures set the release of Focker-In-Law in theaters for the November 26, 2026 in theaters. Paramount Pictures will be in charge of distribution in Latin America and other international markets.
