The action rom-com Ghosted of Apple Studios, has revealed the first official trailer, with a look at its protagonists, Chris Evans y Ana de Armaswith the former playing a “damsel in distress”, while de Armas plays the role of a spy who must help Evans.
The details of the plot have been kept secret for the moment, something curious since the film has its premiere scheduled for Apple TV Plus for the month of April 2023, with the exact day to be confirmed.
It was previously revealed to be a “high-concept, action-adventure, romance film,” with similarities to Romancing the Stone (1980).
The trailer introduces Evans, who has fallen in love with De Armas and ends up being ghosted, suddenly losing touch with no explanation, and is determined to find out why. Her secretive life as a super spy is certainly one way to explain her disappearance without a trace.
The project is led by Dexter Fletcherfilmmaker responsible for biopics Rocketmany Bohemian Rhapsodytaking the reins of the latter in the final stage of it, after the dismissal of Bryan Singer, although the credit of the direction belongs to Singer.
He script was written by the wonderful duo formed by Paul Wernick y Rhett Reesescreenwriters of Deadpool, Deadpool 2, Zombieland, Zombieland: Double Tapy 6 Underground. The duo presented and sold the script to Skydance.
Ghosted marks the third collaboration of Evans and de Armas on the big screen, after being part of Knives Out by Rian Johnson, and The Grey Man of the Russo Brothers.
Evans and de Armas are joined in the cast Adrien Brody, Mike Moh, Tim Blake Nelson, Marwan Kenzari, Anna Deavere Smith, Lizzie Broadway, Mustafa Shakir, Tiya Sircar, Amy Sedarisy Tate Donovan.
David Ellison, Dana Goldberg, Don Granger, and Julie Daly produce, along with Apple Studios and Skydance Media, Wernick, and Reese.
Filming began on February 14, 2022 in Atlanta and Washington DC as locations, and ended on May 12 of the same year.
This is one of the strong cards of 2023 from the technology giant’s streamer.
