For your green corn cake to be tasty, use the ingredients below and follow the instructions for preparation.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups sweet corn (can be fresh or canned)

  • 3 eggs

  • 1 cup of sugar

  • 1/2 cup oil

  • 1 cup wheat flour

  • 1/2 cup of cornmeal

  • 1 tablespoon powdered yeast

  • 1 pinch of salt

Directions

  • Preheat the oven to 180°C and grease a cake tin with butter or oil.
  • In the blender, add the green corn, eggs, sugar and oil. 
    Beat well until you get a homogeneous mixture.
  • In a bowl, mix the wheat flour, cornmeal and salt.
  • Pour the liquid mixture from the blender into the bowl with the dry ingredients. 
    Stir well until you get a uniform mass.
  • Lastly, add the baking powder and mix gently.
  • Pour the dough into the greased form and place in the preheated oven.
  • Bake for about 40-45 minutes, or until the cake is golden brown and firm. 
    To check if it’s ready, insert a toothpick into the center of the cake – if it comes out clean, it’s ready.
  • Remove the cake from the oven and let it cool before unmolding.
  • Serve the green corn cake in slices and enjoy!
