Los Wildfires ravaging Los Angeles County have forced the Hollywood industry to cancel events such as the Critics Choice Awards, which were originally going to be delivered on Sunday, January 12 and which now have a new date, in addition to a large number of television productions that have had to stop filming for the moment.

From Grey's Anatomy, Suits LA, to The Price is Right, it is estimated that there have been more than a dozen shows that are recorded in Los Angeles, which have had to pause their production, due to the fires in Pacific Palisades, Altadena , and other places in the region, have forced tens of thousands of people to evacuate.

As of this morning, the toll from the latest wildfires included two people dead, multiple injuries and more than 320,000 people without power. The Palisades Fire has burned more than 5,000 acres and destroyed about 1,000 structures.

An unusual wind storm combined with very dry conditions caused numerous fires in Los Angeles on Tuesday, January 7, none of them have been contained as of today, Wednesday the 8th.

Among the impacted shows are:

  • MAX: Hacks
  • ABC: Grey’s Anatomy, Doctor Oddysey, Jimmy Kmmel Live
  • NBC: Happy’s Place, Suits LA
  • Apple TV+: Loot
  • Peacock: Ted
  • CBS: After Midnight, NCIS, NCIS: Origins, The Neighborhood, Poppa’s House, The Price Is Right

Film LA, the film office for the city and county of Los Angeles, has issued a notice informing that all permits for filming in Altadena, La Crescenta, La Cañada Flintridge and unincorporated Pasadena (near from the Eaton fire site) have been removed for the time being.

Film LA too, “advises the production community that staffing resources normally available to support film production may not be available during the local state of emergency.”

The news comes after the cancellation of the BAFTA tea party this Saturday, January 11, an awards season tradition.

Other recent cancellations, in addition to the Critics Choice Awards and the BAFTA Tea Party, include the premiere of the film Showgirl by Gia Coppola from Roadside Attraction Better Man from Paramount. Pictures, and the AFI Awards ceremony on Friday, January 10.
