The HBO Original Limited Series, The Idolcreated by Abel Tesfaye (aka The Weeknd), Sam Levinson (Euphoria), y Reza Fahimcontinues to prepare the audience for its big premiere on HBO Max in 2023, with the release of a third teaser trailer.

In the glimpse they find at the end of the note, we see the protagonist Lily-Rose Depp (The King, Voyagers, Silent Night) transform into Jocelyn, a struggling pop star, who catches the eye of self-help guru and secret cult leader Tedros (The Weeknd) while dancing at a local club. As Jocelyn struggles with her burgeoning career and her mental health, the pair enter into a toxic relationship that could destroy them both.

OFFICIAL SYNOPSIS:

The plot revolves around “A self-help guru and modern cult leader who enters into a complicated relationship with a rising pop idol.”

The rest of the cast is made up of the singer Troye Sivan, Steve Zissis (Happy Death Day 2U)Melanie Liburd, Tunde Adebimpe, Elizabeth Berkley (Saved by the Bell, Showgirls), Nico Hiraga (Booksmart)Rachel Sennott (Shiva Baby, Bodies Bodies Bodies)Nef Day (Assassination Nation, Transparent)Jennie Kim –member of the k-pop group Blackpink– Debby Ryan (Spin Me Round, Insatiable) and the recently deceased Anne Heche (Chicago PD, Aftermath), in one of his last on-screen roles.

This will be the first big acting role for The Weeknd, although he previously wrote and starred in an episode of the animated series. American Dad on TBS, and appeared in the acclaimed drama from the Safdie brothers and A24, Uncut Gemsas a fictional version of himself.

The Idol It was announced in June 2021, with the filming giving the initial clapperboard in November of the same year. After undergoing some creative modifications, the limited series underwent some reshoots last April. The limited series consists of 6 episodes.

As for Levinson, his series Euphoria HBO received a total of 16 nominations at the 2022 Emmy Awards, taking home 9 of them, including Outstanding Lead Actress in a Drama Series (Zendaya). Levinson directs all 6 episodes of The Idol.

With the premiere date announced for 2023 with the day and month to be announced, we share the third teaser trailer for The Idol. Its broadcast will be borne by HBO Max in Mexico and the rest of Latin America.
