We are not ready for what is coming with the reboot of Resident Evil from the screenwriter and director Zach Cregger (Weapons, Barbarian),
Starring by Austin Abrams (Weapons), as Bryan, we follow his character, a medical courier who travels through a zombie-infested Raccoon City, with intense action and horror, after the delivery of a package involves him in a fast-paced race for survival on a fateful night full of chaos around him.
What chaos will Bryan face? For example, the most recent official poster shared by Sony Pictures, promoting its arrival in theaters IMAXwhere we see body parts peek out of the front door of a house where Bryan will arrive to make a delivery.
Take a look at the end of the note.
Cregger wrote the script with Shay Hatten (John Wick: Chapter 3, John Wick: Chapter 4) based on an original story by Cregger.
This is, by the way, a new collaboration between Abrams and Cregger, after the actor was part of the cast of the acclaimed horror film, the Oscar winner, Weapons.
As has already been said previously, Cregger's vision for this film is different as portrayed in the seven live-action films (the six starring Milla Jovovich, and the 2021 reboot), and the short-lived Netflix series.
Since Sony announced the reboot with Cregger as co-writer and director, the filmmaker has been firm in his decision not to directly adapt the video game stories, stating that His film “is a completely original story that takes place in the world of Resident Evil”.
This isn't to say that the film wasn't inspired by its source material. Cregger said that he took this project as “A chance to be loyal to video games in spirit and toneand build a story that puts you in that scenario, again and again, with increasingly higher stakes”.
In addition to Abrams, the cast includes Paul Walter Hauser (The Fantastic Four: First Steps), Zach Cherry (Severance), Kali Reis (True Detective: Night Country), y Johnno Wilson (I Love That for You).
