Cillian Murphy Return with another complex paper in the captivating drama trailer Steve of Netflixafter his triumph in the Oscar for Best Actor for his leading role in Oppenheimer.
The film, which recently announced that it will celebrate its World Cup premiere at the Toronto Film Festival in September, revealed its first advance, available at the end of the note.
The movie is a Reinterpretation of the 2023 bestseller Shyof the author Max Porterthat gives a radical turn to the story to tell it from the perspective of Steve, the director of a reformatory.
The drama is set in the mid -90s and follows a crucial day in the life of the character by Murphy.
Synopsis:
“He follows a crucial day in the life of director Steve (Murphy) and his students in a last chance reformatory in a world that has abandoned them. While Steve struggles to protect the integrity of the school and his imminent closure, we see him deal with his own mental health. Parallel to Steve's difficulties, we know Shy (Jay Lycurgo), A teenager with problems trapped between his past and the future while trying to reconcile his inner fragility with his impulse of self -destruction and violence ”.
The film takes place a day in which a documentary team interviews adolescents and teachers. It also works as an analysis of the political present.
Tim mielants (Small Things Like These, Peaky Blinders) He is the director, with Porter adapting the script of his novel.
The rest of the cast includes Tracey Ullman (The Actor, Curb Your Enthusiasm), Iron aka Little Simz (Top Boy, Venom: Let There Be Carnage), y Emily Watson (Dune: Prophecy, Chernobyl).
Murphy, Alan Moloney and Tina Pawlik are the producers. Porter is the executive producer.
Steve You will have a premiere in selected cinemas in the United States on September 19, before your Netflix premiere planned for October 3.
