500g wheat flour
10g of salt
10g of sugar
10g dry yeast
350ml of warm water
Directions
- In a large bowl, mix the flour, salt and sugar.
- In another bowl, mix yeast with warm water until completely dissolved.
- Add the water and yeast mixture to the dry ingredients and mix well until you get a homogeneous dough.
- Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 10 minutes, until it is smooth and elastic.
- Place the dough in an oiled bowl, cover with a damp cloth and let it rest for about 1 hour, or until it doubles in size.
- Preheat the oven to 220°C.
- Divide the dough into two equal parts and mold each of them into Italian bread.
- Place the buns on an oiled baking sheet and let rest for another 15 minutes.
- Make cuts on the surface of the buns with a sharp knife, forming a decorative pattern.
- Bake the buns in the preheated oven for about 30-35 minutes, or until golden brown and crispy.
