20th Century Studios is preparing everything for the premiere of Alien: Romulusthe new installment of the saga Aliendirected and co-written by Fede Alvarez (Don’t Breathe, Evil Dead).

Alien: Romulus It is the seventh installment of the franchise, or the ninth installment if we take the crossovers into account. Alien vs Predator.

This new project is described as “an original independent feature film”. The plot is located between the timeline of Alien (1979) Ridley Scott, and the sequel Aliens (1986) of James Cameron.

Scott is one of the producers of the film, and has his seal of approval, and now we can also add Cameron's, since according to Álvarez's statements, Cameron had the opportunity to see the film and loved it. This is what he told ScreenRant:

“James Cameron is also someone I've met over the years, and when he found out I was doing it, we started chatting about it. So I had that conversation with him at the script level as well. Now he's seen the movie and he loved it.”

Álvarez continued telling the outlet:

“It's also fascinating because the notes and comments [de Cameron y Scott] They are completely different. They wouldn't repeat a note. Whatever Ridley said, Cameron said something different. “They were all super smart comments and notes and thoughts about the movie and filmmaking and so on, but they both have completely different approaches, so what's great about being able to make this movie is having the opportunity to work with them.”

An important fact about this new film is that unlike the other films that focused on adults in corporate, military and scientific roles, this ninth installment of the franchise will focus on a group of young people.

“In this ninth entry in the immensely popular and enduring film series, a group of young people on a distant world find themselves in a confrontation with the most terrifying life form in the universe.”

The cast is headed by Cailee Spaeny (Civil War, Priscilla, Devs), playing Rain Carradine, Isabela Merced (Instant Family, Dora and the Lost City of Gold) like kay, Archie Renaux (Upgraded, The Other Zoey) like Tyler, David Johnson (Industry) like Andy, Spike Fearn (After sun), y Aileen Wu.

Álvarez co-wrote the script with his frequent collaborator Rodo Sayagues (remake Evil Dead, Don’t Breathe, Don’t Breathe 2remake Texas Chainsaw Massacre), and produced the feature film in the company of Ridley Scottdirector of the original classic and the prequels Prometheus y Alien: Covenant.
