In recent days, it was announced that the production company Spyglass Media Group had launched the slasher rom-com, Heart Eyesfrom the director Josh Ruben (Werewolves Within, Scare Me).

The latest news announces the signings of Jordana Brewster (Fast and Furious, The Texas Chainsaw Massacre: The Beginning), y Devon Saw (Final Destination, Chucky), according to reports from Deadline.

They join the previously announced protagonists Olivia Holt (Cruel Summer) y Mason Gooding (Scream 5, Scream VI), playing colleagues who work overtime on Valentine's Day.

Heart Eyes will have a script written by Christopher Landon (Happy Death Day, Freaky), Phillip Murphy (The Hitman’s Wife’s Bodyguard) y Michael Kennedy (Freaky).

Spyglass produced the two most recent installments of the saga Scream.

OFFICIAL SYNOPSIS:

“When the Heart Eyes Killer strikes Seattle, the elusive, match-oriented killer mistakes a pair of coworkers working overtime on Valentine’s Day for a couple. Now they must spend the most romantic night of the year running for their lives.”

In a press release shared a few days ago by Deadline, Ruben explained:

“My love for horror is only rivaled by my love for romantic comedies. I'm very excited to be putting on my most challenging genre shift to date: A brutal slasher in a nostalgic romantic comedy universe.”

Landon, Greg Gilreath y Adam Hendricks (M3gan, Totally Killer) of Divide/Conquer are producing. Spyglass’ Gary Barber and Chris Stone will executive produce alongside Murphy.
