Kevin Bacon will continue down the path of terror.
After starring alongside his wife Kyra Sedgwick and children in the horror comedy Family Movie (2026), Bacon is secured to star in a new horror film.
The demonic project is titled Summonerand will be written and directed by Jeremy Slater (Umbrella Academy) for the seal Amazon MGM Studios.
According to Deadline reports, this is the official synopsis:
“Summoner tells the story of Jefferson Haddock (Bacon), who is called to a secluded property under witness protection to deal with a terrifying demon, unleashing a force that threatens to destroy him and everything around him.”
Summoner will score Slater's directorial debut. He is best known for his work as a screenwriter primarily in television, having written episodes of Moon Knightthe horror series The Exorcist aired on Fox in 2016, and the MonsterVerse movie, Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire.
In addition to Family MovieBacon's other projects in horror include, Friday the 13th, Tremors, You Should Have Left, They/Them, Leave the World Behind, MaXXXineand the reboot of The Toxic Avenger.
The horror project is produced by Andy Muschietti and Bárbara Muschietti (the director and producer of ITand the series Welcome to Derry), and Russell Ackerman. Executive producers are Dan Kagan, Melissa Russell, Carl Hampe, and John Schoenfelder.
