Sony Pictures presented the first teaser trailer for the rom-com Anyone but Youstarring Sydney Sweeney (Euphoria) y Glen Powell (Top Gun: Maverick).
The director’s romantic comedy Will Gluck (Easy A) has been described as a slight modernization of “Much Ado About Nothing” the William Shakespeare.
OFFICIAL SYNOPSIS:
“When college archenemies reunite years after graduating for a destination wedding, they pretend to be a couple for their own personal reasons. But by pretending, they actually fall in love.”
In the teaser, available at the end of this note, Sweeney’s character tells Powell’s character, “Let’s tell everyone that we’re together.”, while he responds with, “There’s no way we can convince anyone that we’re really we like each other.”
They accompany them in the cast Dermot Mulroney (My Best Friend’s Wedding, The Wedding Date), Michelle Hurd (Star Trek: Picard), Alexandra Shipp (Tick, Tick… Boom!), Darren Barnett (Never Have I Ever), Rachel Griffiths (Six Feet Under), Bryan Brown (Australia), GaTa “Dave” Hadley Robinson (Little Women), y Joe Davidson (Neighbors).
Gluck co-wrote the script with Ilana Wolpert (High School Musical: The Musical: The Series). Gluck also produces with Jeff Kirschenbaum and Joe Roth. Executive producers include Sweeney, Alyssa Altman, Jacqueline Monetta and Natalie Seller.
The romantic comedy was rated R by the Motion Picture Association.
The production was filmed in Australia, with the plot set in Sydney. And it was in January of this same year that the project was announced, after images of the filming emerged. The first look was later presented at CinemaCon 2023.
Sony Pictures will release the rom-com in theaters December 22.
