On the afternoon of this Monday, January 15, 2024, the ceremony of the Premios Emmys 2023after having postponed the original date of September 18, 2023, as a result of the strikes by the writers' and actors' unions.

The nominations for Emmy 2023 were announced since July, with HBO/Max emerging as the network/streamer with the most nominations thanks to original series such as Succession (27), The Last of Us (24), The White Lotus (24), and the original Apple TV+, Ted Lasso (21), also entered the top of the most nominated. They follow him The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel (14), The Bear (13), Beef (13), y Dahmer (13).

SOME DATA ABOUT THE NOMINATIONS:

  • Succession made Emmy history by becoming the first comedy or drama series to earn three lead actor nominations, as Brian Cox, Kieran Culkin y Jeremy Strong They achieved nominations in that category. Strong is a previous winner in this category; Culkin left the category of supporting actor to move to that of leading actor.
  • The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel made history like comedy series from a streaming service with the most nominations, with 80adding 14 more to the 66 achieved in the 2022 edition. This was its fifth and last season.
  • Triple nominations for Pedro Pascal, Quinta Brunsony Mike White. Pascal won best actor in a drama series for The Last of Usguest actor in comedy series for Saturday Night Liveand Narrator by Patagonia: Life On The Edge Of the World. Brunson earned nominations for Best Comedy Series for Abbott ElementaryLeading Actress in a Comedy Series for the aforementioned, and Guest Actress in a Comedy Series for Saturday Night Live. White was nominated for Drama Series, Directing for Drama Series, and Writing for Drama Series, all for The White Lotus.
  • The Supporting Actor in a Drama Series category is completely dominated by Succession y The White Lotus. The latter has control of Supporting Actress in a Drama Series with 5 of the 8 spots for actresses in the show.

The gala will be broadcast live this Monday, January 15, 2024 through FOX in the United States, and on TNT and HBO Max throughout Latin America. The pre-show starts at 6pm MX, and the main gala at 7pm. The celebration will take place at the Peacock Theater (formerly Nokia Theater and Microsoft Theater) located at LA Live in downtown Los Angeles, CA.
