Night Shyamalanwill return to theaters in 2027 with the supernatural romance thriller, Remainin a new collaboration with the studio Warner Bros.with whom in 2024 he made Trap.
The film stars Jake Gyllenhaal (In the Grey, Presumed Innocent) y Phoebe Dyvenor (Anniversary, Fair Play), written and directed by Shyamalan, based on an original story co-created by Shyamalan and renowned author Nicholas Sparks (The Notebook, Dear John), whose novel Remainpublished in October 2025, reached number one on the New York Times bestseller list. The two join forces to give audiences the most twisted Valentine's Day yet.

The synopsis details:
“When reclusive architect Tate Gordon moves to a small coastal town to complete his latest project, he meets a fascinating young woman who brings him out of his confinement and drags him into the center of a deadly mystery that hangs over the town.”
Warner Bros. Pictures promotes the film as “an otherworldly collaboration between two of the world's most creative minds”. The film was initially scheduled to be released on Halloween 2026, but was postponed earlier this year.
In addition to Gyllenhaal and Dyvenor, the rest of the cast includes Ashley Walters (Adolescence), Julie Hagerty (Matlock), Jay O. Sanders (His Three Daughters), Tracy Ifeachor (The Pitt) y Maria Dizzia (Before).
Shyamalan serves as producer alongside Ashwin Rajan for Blinding Edge Pictures, Marc Bienstock and Theresa Park, while Sparks serves as executive producer.
