Last February it was announced that Warner Bros. Discovery He was preparing a New rebranding from your Max brand to change the color of your logo.
At that time it was mentioned that it would go from having the color blue, to a more neutral color scheme, with a combination of black and white, taking the brand to return to the original colors of HBO although without returning to the name “HBO”.
Finally, Max discreetly launched the new image confirming its great resemblance to the original HBO logoleaving behind its bright blue user interface, favoring a palette of monochromatic colors.
The official streaming websites, as well as social networks and the streaming service interface, are already updated with the new official logo. The palette will continue to be implemented in the remaining marketing material during the next few days.
Probably the rebranding helps users/audience, to associate both brands (HBO, MAX). There will be those who wonder if that was the purpose, Why get rid of the word HBO?the answer could be due to the fact that Warner Bros. Discovery does not use Max only for WB and HBO projects. From the fusion between WB and Discovery, the platform adds and includes both HBO, WB, Max Originals, such as other properties, such is the case of Cartoon Network, Discovery, DC, H&H, Id, Adult Swim, Discovery Kids, and TNT Sports in what they call Max universe on its platform.
Aesthetically, The new image of the brand looks much better than the previous blue. It stands out among the rest of the streamings, and resembles the most serious image of Apple TV+ that also uses a monochromatic palette.
This is the most recent WBD streamer rebranding. As we mentioned, HBO's original color was black and white. When HBO GO and HBO Now (Go as S De Demand service for existing HBO subscribers in its linear transmission, and Now as an independent streaming service) continued that same color scheme. In May 2020, HBO Now would become HBO Max, which came with a violet color image. Later, in 2023, the blue color would come with the brand change to Max and the fusion of Warner Bros. Discovery.
