  • 1 can of tomato sauce (approximately 400g)

  • 2 cups grated mozzarella cheese

  • 1/2 cup grated parmesan cheese

  • 2 tablespoons of olive oil

  • 2 tablespoons of butter

  • 2 tablespoons wheat flour

  • 2 cups of milk

  • Nutmeg (optional)

  • Salt and pepper to taste

Directions

  • Preheat the oven to 180°C.
  • In a large pan, heat the olive oil and sauté the onion and garlic until golden.
  • Add the ground beef to the pan and cook until it is fully cooked and browned.
Season with salt and pepper to taste.
  • Add the tomato sauce to the ground beef and let it cook for a few minutes to combine the flavors.
    Reserve.
  • In another pan, melt the butter over medium heat.
Add the wheat flour and stir well to make a roux.
Cook for a few minutes until the mixture is lightly golden.
  • Gradually add the milk to the pan, stirring constantly to prevent lumps from forming.
Cook until the béchamel sauce thickens.
If desired, add a pinch of nutmeg, salt and pepper to season the sauce.
    Reserve.
  • Assembling the lasagna: In a baking dish, spread a thin layer of ground meat sauce on the bottom.
Place a layer of lasagna pasta sheets on top.
  • Cover the pasta with a layer of ground beef sauce, followed by a layer of béchamel sauce and a layer of grated mozzarella cheese.
Repeat layers until all ingredients are used, finishing with a layer of mozzarella cheese and parmesan cheese on top.
  • Cover the dish with aluminum foil and place in the preheated oven for about 25-30 minutes, or until the lasagna is bubbly and cooked.
  • Remove the foil and return the lasagna to the oven for an additional 10 minutes, or until the top is golden brown.
  • Remove from the oven and let the lasagna rest for a few minutes before slicing and serving.
