Ingredients
- For the chocolate dough:
2 cups of wheat flour
1 cup of sugar
1/2 cup cocoa powder
1 teaspoon powdered yeast
1/2 teaspoon bicarbonate of soda
1/2 teaspoon of salt
3/4 cup of milk
1/2 cup vegetable oil
2 eggs
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- For the vanilla dough:
2 cups of wheat flour
1 cup of sugar
1 teaspoon powdered yeast
1/2 teaspoon bicarbonate of soda
1/2 teaspoon of salt
3/4 cup of milk
1/2 cup vegetable oil
2 eggs
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Directions
- Preheat the oven to 180°C.
Grease and flour a round cake tin of about 23 cm in diameter. - Prepare the chocolate dough: In a bowl, mix the wheat flour, sugar, cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda and salt.
- In another bowl, mix milk, vegetable oil, eggs and vanilla extract for the chocolate mass.
- Combine the liquid and dry ingredients of the chocolate dough, mixing until you get a homogeneous dough.
- Prepare the vanilla dough in the same way: In a bowl, mix the wheat flour, sugar, baking powder, baking soda and salt.
- In another bowl, mix milk, vegetable oil, eggs and vanilla extract for vanilla dough.
- Combine the liquid and dry ingredients for the vanilla batter, mixing well.
- To assemble the cake, drop alternating spoonfuls of the chocolate and vanilla batter into the prepared pan, creating a blended effect.
- After placing all the spoonfuls of dough, use a knife or a toothpick to make smooth movements in the dough, creating the merged effect.
- Bake the cake in the preheated oven for about 40-45 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
- Remove the cake from the oven and let it cool in the tin for a few minutes before unmolding.
Then let the cake cool completely on a wire rack. - You can sprinkle icing sugar over the top of the cake before serving, if desired.
