The anticipated sequel My Big Fat Greek Wedding 3 reveals important news that all those who are eagerly awaiting the new installment will be happy to know. According to Deadline reports, Focus Features has set the world theatrical release for September 8, 2023..

The film features the star and creator of the franchise Nia Vardalosas a scriptwriter, director and protagonist resuming her role as Toula, in addition to John Corbett, Louis Mandylor, Elena Kampouris, Maria Vacratsis, Andrea Martin, Elias Kacavas, Gia Carides, Joey Fatone, y Melina Kotselou.

Tom HanksWilson, and Gary Goetzman are producing the third film, with Paul Brooks, Scott Niemeyer, and Steven Shareshian serving as executive producers.

The original film released theatrically in 2002 by IFC Films had a release in 1,000 theaters in the US, sustaining that run for 17 weeks grossing $45 million during that time. It later expanded to 2,000 theaters and grossed a whopping $241.1 million at the domestic box office and $368.2 million at the global box office, on a budget of just $5 million! The sequel released in 2016 by Universal Pictures racked up $59.6 in domestic box office and $90.6 million globally. The franchise accumulates a global total of $458.8 million dollars.

Domestic market distribution of the third installment is handled by Focus Features, with Universal Pictures serving as international distributor.
