New Line Cinema also announced having set the theatrical release date for the horror and science fiction project, Companionfrom the producer Zach Cregger (Barbarian), which will mark the feature film directorial debut of Drew Hancock.
Companion will debut on the big screen January 10, 2025.
Hancock wrote the script. Plot details are being kept under lock and key for now.
There is very little we know at the moment about Companion, However, it is one of the projects carried out under the agreement that Cregger signed with New Line, after the box office and critical success of his film Barbarian, which in turn, marked Cregger's debut as a horror film director. Other projects that are developed under the agreement are Weaponswritten and directed by Creggers, which has also just set its theatrical release.
Companion Rated R by the Motion Picture Association (MPA) for:
“Strong violence, sexual content and language throughout.”
The main cast is made up of Sophie Thatcher (Yellowjackets, The Boogeyman), Rupert Friend (Anatomy of a Scandal), Harvey Guillen (What We Do in the Shadows), Lukas Gage (The White Lotus, You), Megan Suri (It Lives Inside), Jack Quaid (Scream, The Boys), Marc Menchaca (Ozark, The Creator)y Woody Fu (Your Monster, Life & Beth).
BouldeLight's Raphael Margules and JD Lifshitz produce, alongside Vertigo's Roy Lee. Tracy Rosenblum and Andrew Childs are executive producers.
