the iconic attraction The haunted mansionlocated in New Orleans Square in Disney of Anaheim, California, will hit the big screen this summer with a live-action adaptation titled Haunted Mansion.
The actual action is directed by justin simon (Dear White People, Bad Hair), with hyphen Katie Dippold (Ghostbusters 2016).
Simien directs an all-star cast led by Jamie Lee Curtis (Halloween, Everything Everywhere All at Once), who we see taking the center of the latest promotional image (via EW) available at the end of the note.
The rest of the cast is made up of LaKeith Stanfield (Get Out), Tiffany Haddish (Girls Trip), Owen Wilson (The Wedding Crashers), Rosario Dawson (Clerks III, Sin City), Danny DeVito (Jumanji: The Next Level), Jared Leto (Morbius), Winona Ryder (Stranger Things), Dan Levi (Schitt’s Creek), y Hasan Minhaj (The Morning Show).
Disney will release the movie in theaters on July 28, 2023 Worldwide.

In this mysterious adventure, a doctor (Dawson) and her 9-year-old son (Chase Dillon), looking to start a new life, move into an oddly affordable mansion in New Orleans, only to discover that the place is much more than what they expected. Desperate for help, they contact a priest (Wilson), who, in turn, enlists the help of a widowed scientist turned failed paranormal expert (Stanfield), a French Quarter psychic (Haddish), and a cantankerous historian ( DeVito).”
The Motion Pictures Association (MPA), the body responsible for granting age ratings to all movies in the United States, has hung Haunted Mansion a great PG-13 by:
“Some thematic elements and terrifying action”.
The attraction launched in 1969 and is still open today at Disney parks. Haunted Mansion “takes theme park guests into a terrifying and spooky mansion that has a wide range of supernatural scares. It also features a wide cast of characters.” The most popular characters include Hatbox Ghost, Madame Leota, The Phantom, and Hitchhiking Ghosts.
The first adaptation to the big screen was released in 2003, directed by Rob Minkoff, and with Eddie Murphy in the leading role. In recent times, Guillermo del Toro was briefly on board for a new adaptation that never came to fruition.
