The next installment of the DCU from Warner Bros. and DC Studios will put a dark turn in the DC universe.
We talk about Clayface. The Batman villain will have his own solo film, with the production directed by James Watkins (Eden Lake, Speak No Evil), and script Mike Flanagan (The Haunting of Hill House, Doctor Sleep) y Hossein Amini (Drive).
Inspired by the DC Comics characterthe plot revolves around the mutilation of Matt Hagen (performed by Tom Rhys Harries of The Gentlemen). Up-and-coming Gotham City actor Matt sleeps with the girlfriend of a local mob boss, who, in retaliation, disfigures his face. Desperate for a solution, he contacts scientist Dr. Caitlyn Corr (Naomi Ackie, Blink Twice), who injects him with a serum with monstrous side effects.
The solution allows you to reshape your face and its shape, becoming a walking piece of clay. He is based on the supervillain who debuted in 1940's Detective Comics #440.
The plot is set prior to the events of Superman (2025).

“Clayface” chronicles one man's horrific descent from a rising star in Hollywood to a monster thirsting for revenge, in a story that explores the loss of identity and humanity, corrosive love and the dark side of scientific ambition.
The cast also includes Max Minghella (The Handmaid’s Tale), Eddie Marshall (Heartstopper), y Francesca Corney (The Buccaneers).
A BODY HORROR IN THE CRONENBERG
The feature film has been described as a film with “references and structure” to David Cronenberg's classic body horror, The Fly (1986)while DC's James Gunn had already anticipated that the film, Rated Res a “full-blown horror movie”“.
The producers are Matt Reeves, James Gunn, Peter Safran and Lynn Harris. Executive producers are Mike Flanagan, Rafi Crohn, Chantal Nong Vo, Paul Ritchie, Michael E. Uslan, and Lars P. Winther.
WB premieres Clayface in theaters October 23, 2026.
