Nicole Kidman about 'Practical Magic 2': “It's fun and witchcraft”

Warner Bros. is running the development of the sequel Practical Magic 2new delivery that will follow up on the events of the romance and fantasy film of 1998, Practical Magicwith the return of the protagonists of the original, Sandra Bullock y Nicole Kidman.

The 1998 film, titled in our market Love spellfollow two sisters, Sally (Bullock) and Gillian Owens (Kidman), which come from a long line of witches. Orphans at an early age, they are raised by their eccentric aunts (performed by Stockard Channing and Dianne Wiest), who embrace their magical heritage. However, the Owens family is cursed: any man who falls in love with an Owens woman is doomed to premature death.

Sally and Gillian fight with their powers and the consequences of family curse. Sally tries to lead a normal life, distancing himself from magic, but the tragedy ensues when her husband dies. Gillian, on the other hand, lives a wild life and takes advantage of his magical skills. The sisters get involved in an event where they fight to break the family curse.

For the sequel, Bullock and Kidman will repeat their roles such as the Sally and Gillian sisters, respectively.

Details have not been revealed about the plot, except for Kidman's statements in June 2024, in which he said, “There is much more to tell for that reason we say, 'that's fine, now it's interesting to this,' [hemos] found a way to do it. “

It is Kidman herself in charge of revealing the most recent information. During her appearance this week in the 78th edition of the Cannes Film Festival, the Oscar winner spoke (via THR) about her commitment to continue working with directors, then the conversation pivoted towards the sequel to the sequel Practical Magic 2that will be directed by Susanne beesmarking a new collaboration between Bier and its protagonists; Bier directed Bullock in the horror thriller, Bird Boxfrom Netflix, Ay Kidman in the series The Undoing of HBO and The Perfect Couple The Netflix:

“I think fans will be very happy. We will be very faithful. We are aware of the importance of these characters and that film for so many people. We are not going to reinvent the wheel. Bullock and Kidman will produce the sequel with Denise Di Novi, producer of the original.

Production is expected to begin soon, so we assume other signings will be known in the following weeks. At the moment Bullock and Kidman are the only ones confirmed.
