Ingredients
1 cup wheat flour
1 tablespoon of sugar
1 teaspoon powdered yeast
1/2 teaspoon of salt
1 cup of milk
1 egg
2 tablespoons melted butter (or vegetable oil)
Directions
- In a large bowl, mix the flour, sugar, baking powder and salt.
- In another bowl, beat milk and egg until well combined.
- Add the milk and egg mixture to the dry ingredients and stir well until you get a homogeneous mass.Â
Make sure you don’t leave any dry lumps of flour. - Add the melted butter (or vegetable oil) to the dough and mix again until well incorporated.
- Heat a nonstick skillet over medium heat.Â
If necessary, lightly grease the skillet with a little oil or butter. - Pour a small ladle of batter into the heated skillet.Â
Tilt the skillet to evenly spread the batter over the surface. - Cook the pancake for about 1-2 minutes, or until the edges start to set and bubbles appear on the surface.
- Carefully flip the pancake over using a spatula and cook for another 1-2 minutes on the other side, until golden brown.
- Transfer the finished pancake to a plate and repeat the process with the rest of the batter, greasing the skillet again as needed.
- Serve the pancakes hot with the filling of your choice, such as fruits, honey, chocolate, hazelnut cream or even snacks such as cheese and ham.
