Ingredients

  • 2 cups of wheat flour

  • 1 teaspoon of salt

  • 1/2 cup cold butter, cut into small cubes

  • 4 to 6 tablespoons of ice water

  • 8 sausages, cooked and cut into slices

  • 1 small onion, chopped

  • 1/2 cup corn (optional)

  • 1/2 cup peas (optional)

  • 1/2 cup cheddar cheese, grated

  • 3 eggs

  • 1 cup of milk

  • Salt and pepper to taste

Directions

  • In a large bowl, mix the wheat flour and salt.
  • Add the cold butter and mix until you have a crumb-like texture.
  • Add ice water, one tablespoon at a time, and stir until the dough starts to come together.
  • Form the dough into a ball, cover with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes.
  • Preheat the oven to 180°C.
  • On a floured surface, roll out the dough until it is approximately the size of your pie pan.
  • Transfer the dough to a greased pie pan and press it into the bottom and sides. 
    Remove excess dough.
  • Distribute the sausage slices, chopped onion, corn, peas and cheddar cheese over the dough in the pan.
  • In a separate bowl, beat the eggs, add the milk and season with salt and pepper to taste.
  • Pour the egg and milk mixture over the ingredients in the pan.
  • Bake in the preheated oven for 30-40 minutes, or until the pie is golden and firm in the center.
  • Let the pie cool slightly before cutting into slices. 
    Serve hot and enjoy!
