A24 the teaser trailer debuted Primetimea new dramatic thriller in which Robert Pattinson (The Drama, The Odyssey) assumes the leading role playing iconic presenter Chris Hansonfrom the television program To Catch a Predator.
Lance Oppenheim (Ren Faire) directs the feature film with a script by Ajon Singh.
In addition to Pattinson, the cast includes Merritt Wever (Severance, Unbelievable), Skyler Gisondo (Licorice Pizza), Phoebe Bridgers (I Saw the TV Glow), Sean Bridgers (Room), y Matthew Maher (Outer Range).
The synopsis of Primetime dice:
“In 2006, Chris Hansen, host of 'To Catch a Predator,' sets out to make television history, taking on a criminal underworld and changing television forever.”
2006 marked an important chapter for the program To Catch a Predatorwhich followed Hansen and a camera crew as they attempted to catch pedophiles in complex sting operations. The show aired from 2004 to 2007 on NBC, and despite only having aired 20 episodes, it was so popular that it continues to be a cultural reference in television history and investigative journalism.
One of the most notorious cases occurred in 2006, when Kaufman County Deputy District Attorney Bill Conradt committed suicide at his Texas residence when law enforcement officers and an NBC camera crew burst into his home as part of an investigation into the show. Conradt's case was part of a four-day undercover operation in Murphy, Texas, that resulted in the capture of 25 men. The operation generated a strong negative reaction from local residents, and the Collin County prosecutor's office declined to prosecute any of those arrested.

A24 premieres Primetime in theaters in the fall – in the northern hemisphere.
