Studiocanal revealed the first look at one of his upcoming film projects, the romantic drama Forty Lovewhich marks not only the debut of Romeo Beckham as an actor, but that of the renowned fashion photographer Peter Angelo Carlotti as director.
Carlotti's drama is set in professional tennis, with a plot that explores the balance between ambition, performance and intimacy on the French Riviera.
At the end of the note we share the first official look (via Variety).
Beckham leads the cast alongside Paul Kircher (The Animal Kingdom), Guillaume Canet (Sink or Swim), Benjamin I could (The Stranger), y Catherine Deneuve.
The story revolves around Sacha Gallo, a tennis superstar who trains with his father to win a big trophy in Paris. But the arrival of a new, charismatic rival—played by Beckham—calls into question everything Sacha thought he knew about competition, ambition, and himself.
“For the first time, he faces an adversary of a completely different nature: love. A force as exhilarating as it is destabilizing, and far more dangerous than anything he has encountered on the court.”
Carlotti wrote the script written with Gaëlle Macé (A Private Life).
Romeo is the son of soccer legend David Beckham, and former Spice Girl and fashion designer, Victoria Beckham. The 23-year-old has worked as a model for luxury brands, and for a time tried his hand at football.
The feature film is produced by Hugo Sélignac and Paco de Bary of Chi-Fou-Mi Productions, and co-produced by Studiocanal and Manna Studios.
070 Shake and Johan Lenox are the composers of the soundtrack.
Regarding the opportunity to produce Carlotti's debut, Sélignac said in a press release:
“There is a singular tenderness, melancholy and strength in his images, and his foray into directing seemed like a natural step to me. [Es una] Sensual, moving and deeply emotional romantic fable and coming-of-age story [sobre las] demands of high-level sport and everything that lies beneath the surface… with outstanding performances.”
Studiocanal will premiere Forty Love in French cinemas November 25, 2026. It remains to be seen which will be its distributor for the rest of the markets.
