“A 11.9 House light years. A science professor. An opportunity to save us all.”
Under that premise, Amazon MGM Studios and Sony Pictures present the First trailer of the space project Project Hail Marytitled in our market as End of the World Projectcon Ryan Gosling as a science professor who is forced to go to space to save humanity.
The plot focuses on Ryland Grace (Gosling), a high school teacher who is in a spacecraft without remembering his past or how he got there. His interstellar mission, which must successfully complete to save the land from a possible disaster, leads him to know a mysterious extraterrestrial who also seeks to save his own species.
In addition to gosling, the main cast includes Sandra Hüller (Anatomy of a Fall), Lionel Boyce (The Bear), Ken Leung (Joker: Folia two, Lost), Liz Kingsman (F1), y Milana Vayntrub (Monsters, This Is Us).
In advance, Hüller launches a warning: “The sun is not the only star that is dying. If we do nothing, everything on this planet will extinguish.”
Upon learning that the person chosen for the risky mission may not return, Gosling has no interest in voluntary. “I understand what is at stake, really”dice. “But my place is in the classroom.”

The dystopic science fiction project is directed by Phil Lord y Christopher Millerthe creators of the animated Spider-Haber franchise of Sony, and directors of The LEGO Moviefranchise 21 Jump Street). The script wrote it Drew Goddard (The Martian, Cabin in the Woods, Daredevil, World War Z), adapted from the homonymous novel of Andy Weir.
Goddard previously adapted another Weir novel for cinema, The Martian (2015), which became a complete success for all involved in the project.
This is the first Lord and Miller project as directors since the launch in cinemas of 22 Jump Street (2014).

“The science professor Ryland Grace (Gosling) wakes up in a spacecraft light years of his home without remembering who he is or how he got there. When recovering his memory, he begins to discover his mission: solve the enigma of the mysterious substance that causes the extinction of the Sun. He must resort to his scientific knowledge and unconventional ideas to save the earth from extinction … but an unexpected friendship will not allow him to do not have to do so.
The plot is set in the near future.
The producers are Miller, Lord, Weir, Gosling, Amy Pascal, Aditya Sood and Rachel O'Connor. Goddard is the executive producer with Patricia Whitcher, Sarah Esberg, Lucy Kita, Nikki Baida, and Ken Kao.
End of the World Project its premiere is planned in cinemas for March 20, 2026. It will include IMAX Salas.
