SAG Awards 2025: Live coverage!

The afternoon of this Sunday, February 23, the Actors union (Sag; screen actors guild) will be celebrating the Edición 31 of the Case Awards 2025recognizing the most prominent actors and actresses of cinema and television of the year 2024.

This is the last stop in front of the Oscar – which already closed its final votes on Tuesday of this week – and where we could see artists like Mikey Madison, Demi Moore, Kieran Culkin y Adrien Brodyfinish consolidating as the favorites for the largest awards gala next Sunday.

The nominations are led in the film sector by Wicked With 5 candidates and A Complete Unknownwith 4. With 5 nominations, Wicked tied the record of more nominations for a film (Shakespeare in Love, Chicago, Doubt, The Banshees of Inisherin y Everything Everwhere All at Once).

It does not cause surprise that the guild, which generally tends to be more populist than the rest of awards, has been inclined to box office successes such as the adaptation of the musical, and the biopic about Bob Dylan. Both films received best cast nominations, which many see as the equivalent of the category for the best film.

That category shared it with Aor, Conclave y Emilia Pérez.

• Since the category for best cast was included in the SAG in 1995, only Braveheart, The Shape of Water, Green Book y Neitherthey have won the Oscar for best film without being nominated for best cast in the SAG.

On the TV side, the acclaimed Shogun leads with 5 nominations.

The live transmission of the SAG will be in charge of Netflix at 7 pm time in central Mexico (The red carpet will begin at 6 pm). The gala is celebrated from the Shrine Auditorium & Expo Hall. The actress Kristen Bell It will be the host of the event.
