Last December, Lionsgate launched a new installment of the slasher horror franchise, SAWthis after the box office success of SAW X in September 2023.

The game of fear will then continue with SAW XIwith the return of Kevin Greutert as a director, after having directed SAW Xand other chapters of the franchise such as Saw VI (2009), y Saw: The Final Chapter (2010). Greutert was also the editor of Saw, Saw II, Saw II, Saw IV, Saw Vy Jigsaw.

The script will be co-written by Patrick Melton y Marcus Dunstanscreenwriters of franchise installments such as Saw IV, Saw V, Saw VI, y Saw 3D.

It's Dunstan who explains to ScreenRant what we can expect from Saw XIwhich continues in its development stage:

“We are writing XI right now and Kevin Greutert will be returning to direct. This has been going on since December and it is [una película] that has something new to say, and [es una historia] annoyed”.

There are still no details about the story of Saw XIand whether or not it will continue the events of Saw X or it will take us back to a different place in the timeline.

It has also not been revealed whether Tobin Bell o Shawnee Smith would resume their roles, although we believe that is almost a fact.

SAW X featured the return of Bell and Smith, and grossed more than $100 million worldwide. The franchise as a whole has grossed more than $1 billion worldwide.

Oren Koules and Mark Burg will produce the new installment.

Saw XI set its theatrical release for September 26, 2025.
