Prime Video announced this week during the Upfronts event, which they have given green light for a sequel to the reboot Road Housewith the return of Jake Gyllenhaal in a leading role playing Elwood Dalton. The reboot premiered on the streamer last March with great success in views, according to reports from Prime Video (via Deadline).

In the reimagining of the 1989 classic, Gyllenhaal played Elwood Dalton, a former UFC fighter who takes a job as security at a Florida roadhouse bar, recruited by Frankie (Jessica Williams of Shrinking, Booksmart).

Details of the sequel are being kept under lock and key for now.

Amazon MGM Studios revealed that Road House It has almost 80 million views on Prime Video globally. During its first two weeks of availability on the streamer, it managed to have more than 50 million views worldwide.

It is currently the premiere of an Amazon MGM Studios production, the most watched worldwide.

The movie was directed by Doug Limanwith a script Anthony Bagarozzi (The Nice Guys) y Charles Mondry.
