'Shrinking' reveals trailer for season two with Jason Segel and Harrison Ford

The tragicomedy genre series Shrinking of Apple TV+revealed the official trailer for the second season, in which we see the protagonist Jason Segel face the consequences of doing unconventional therapy.

Segel (How I Met Your Mother) plays grieving therapist Jimmy, who begins to break the rules and tell his clients exactly what he thinks. Ignoring his training and ethics, he finds himself making enormous, tumultuous changes in people's lives…including his own.

In addition to Segel, the cast of Shrinking is headed by Harrison Ford, Jessica Williams, Christa Miller, Lukita Maxwell, Michael Urie, Luke Tenniey Ted McGinley. Both Segel and Williams received Emmy nominations for their performances in the first season, released in January 2023 on the streamer.

The co-creator of Shrinking, Brett Goldstein (Ted Lasso) joined the second season as a guest star. In the trailer we briefly see Goldstein, without the famous beard he wore in Ted Lasso.

The trailer also shows Alice (Maxwell), Jimmy's daughter, worried about her father, “I can't help but think that he's going to go back to the way he was after Mom died.”

Later, Paul (Ford), Jimmy's fellow therapist tells him, “It's hard to realize that your children know how fragile you are.” Paul was diagnosed with Alzheimer's in the first season. Paul shares some advice with Jimmy, “Why don't you try sticking to conventional therapy? “Try to be normal.”

Elsewhere, Jimmy is dealing with the consequences of unconventional therapy, especially with the case of one of his patients, Grace (Heidi Gardner), who pushed her husband off a cliff in the season one finale.

Shrinking is co-created by the co-creators of Ted Lasso, Goldstein y Bill Lawrenceand for Segel. The three of them are executive producers along with Neil Goldman, James Ponsoldt, Randall Winston, Jeff Ingold, Liza Katzer, Rachna Fruchbom, Brian Gallivan, and Annie Mebane.

Warner Bros. Television produces the series.

The series known as Filterless therapy in our market premieres on Wednesday, October 16, 2024 on the streamer. The premiere will consist of the first two episodes, with an individual weekly premiere of the third onwards. The second season consists of 12 episodes. The season finale will air on December 25.
