Ingredients

  • 500g diced chicken breast

  • 1 medium chopped onion

  • 2 minced garlic cloves

  • 2 tablespoons butter or vegetable oil

  • 1 can of cream (no whey)

  • 1 can of tomato sauce (or 2 tablespoons of tomato paste)

  • 1/2 cup ketchup

  • 1/2 cup of water

  • 1 tablespoon mustard

  • Salt and pepper to taste

  • Mushrooms, fresh or pickled to taste (optional)

  • Straw potato to serve

Directions

  • In a large pan, heat the butter or oil over medium heat.
  • Add chopped onion and minced garlic to the pan and sauté until golden and soft.
  • Add the chicken cubes and sauté until golden on the outside and cooked through on the inside.
  • If you choose to add mushrooms, place them in the pan and sauté for a few minutes along with the chicken.
  • Then add tomato sauce, ketchup, mustard and water.
    Mix all ingredients well.
  • Season with salt and pepper to taste.
Remember to taste and adjust seasonings to your personal taste.
  • Cook over medium-low heat for about 5 to 7 minutes to enhance the flavor and thicken the sauce.
  • Finally, add the whey-free cream to the mixture, stirring well to incorporate it into the rest of the dish.
Be careful not to let it boil after adding the cream, as it may curdle.
  • Turn off the heat and your simple chicken stroganoff is ready!
