2 cups of cornmeal
2 cups of sugar
3 eggs
1 cup of milk
1/2 cup oil
1 tablespoon powdered yeast
A bit of salt
Directions
- Preheat the oven to 180°C and grease a cake tin with margarine and sprinkle with cornmeal or flour.
- In a large bowl, mix cornmeal and sugar.
- Add the eggs and mix well until you get a homogeneous mass.
- Then add the milk and oil to the mixture and continue stirring until fully incorporated.
- Add the baking powder and a pinch of salt to the dough, mixing gently until evenly distributed.
- Pour the dough into the prepared form.
- Bake in the preheated oven for about 30 to 40 minutes, or until the cake is golden brown and a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
- Remove the cake from the oven and let it cool slightly before unmolding.
- After unmolding, you can sprinkle some icing sugar over the top of the cake if you wish.
- Cut the cake into pieces and serve!
