Slasher 'MaXXXine' receives R Rating

After having revealed the first official trailer this week, the horror project MaXXXinethe third installment of the slasher world created by the filmmaker You West y A24reveals more news.

According to media reports, the sequel to X y Pearl, which will mark the conclusion of West's trilogy, already has its official classification. The Motion Picture Association (MPA) awarded to MaXXXine Rated R for:

“Strong violence, blood, sexual content, graphic nudity, language and drug use.”

The conclusion of the slasher trilogy will have the return of Mia Goth as the protagonist playing a la 'final girl' Maxine Minx.

The trilogy began with the release of Xand later the sequel/prequel Pearlwhich had been filmed in secret after finishing filming X. Both feature films were released in theaters in 2022.

The closing of the trilogy places its plot in the year 1985, six years after the events of Xwhich in turn placed us in the 70s. Pearl For its part, it took us to the year 1918, and was promoted as the “X-traordinary origin story”, from the character Pearl:

It was previously revealed that the project will be a whodunit slasher. The whodunit subgenre refers to detective novels, puzzle pieces, or investigation, and comes from the contraction of the question “who has done it?” (Who has done it?).

“Mia Goth will return and reprise one of the two roles she played in X. Follows Maxine (Goth), after the events of.
