Paramount Pictures revealed the official trailer of Sonic the Hedgehog 3the third installment of the franchise Sonic the Hedgehog, which introduces us to Shadow, one of Sonic's enemies, considered in many ways the anti-Sonic. Keanu Reeves joins the saga lending his voice to Shadow.
The character was created by Dr. Robotnik (Jim Carrey) while he was depressed and out of shape. This is how we see him make his comeback in Sonic 3when Sonic, Tails and Knuckles come to him for help in dealing with Shadow.

The third film will explore new areas of the video game universe created by Sega. Although plot details have been kept under wraps, the post-credits scene of Sonic 2 hinted at Shadow's inclusion.
SYNOPSIS:
“Sonic returns to the big screen this holiday season in his most thrilling adventure yet. Sonic, Knuckles and Tails reunite to face a powerful new adversary, Shadow, a mysterious villain with never-before-seen powers. With their abilities surpassed in every way, Team Sonic must form an unlikely alliance in hopes of stopping Shadow and protecting the planet.”
Jeff Fowlerdirector of the two previous installments, returns to his duties behind the lens. The script was written by Pat Casey, Josh Millery John Whittington.
The cast features the returns of Carrey, Ben Schwartz lending his voice to Sonic, James Marsden like Tom Wachowski, Colleen O’Shaughnessey lending his voice to Tails, and Idris Elba a Knuckles. Con Tika Sumpter, Natasha Rothwell, Adam Pally y Lee Majdoub, Krysten Ritter (Jessica Jones), Alyla Browne (Furious), James Wolk (Watchmen), Sofia Legs (Jane the Virgin), Christ Fernandez (Ted Lasso), y Jorma Taccone (Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse) completing the cast. For the Spanish-speaking market in Latin America, Luisito Communicates returns lending his voice to Sonic.
Sonic the Hedgehog has been a huge commercial success for Paramount. The combined global box office for the first two films totals $870.8 million. It is not surprising then that a third film, and even a spinoff series centered on Knuckles which was already released by the streamer Paramount+.
Neal H. Moritz, Toby Ascher, Toru Nakahara, and Hitoshi Okuno produce largometry.
Paramount Pictures has set the release date for Sonic 3 in theaters around the world by December 20, 2024.
