'Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Verse' will be directed by Bob Persichetti and Justin K. Thompson

The third installment of Spider-Verse de Sony Pictures, Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Versehas just announced the signing of Bob Persichetti y Justin K. Thompson as directors.

Both are familiar with Sony's animated trilogy, with Persichetti having been part of the director trio of the first installment and executive producer of the 2023 sequel, and Thompson as part of the production design team of the original installment and part of the trio of directors of the sequel.

In an official statement to the press, they said (via Variety):

“We've had the immense privilege of being a part of Miles' journey from the beginning, and directing the conclusion to his story is beyond exciting.. The creativity and care invested in every minute of this project has been truly inspiring. We've put together what we think is a very satisfying ending, and we can't wait for fans to experience it. “We are giving everything we have.”

In the summer of 2023, the writers of the Spider-Verse, Phil Lord y Christopher Millerthey confirmed that Beyond the Spider-Verse It will be the end of the trilogy, and will mark the conclusion of the story of Miles Morales.

The acclaimed first installment released in 2018, Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Versewas one of the first times in cinema that we saw the presentation of the multiverse. The film became an overwhelming success with critics and at the box office, accumulating $384 million in the global box office, in addition to winning the Oscar for best animated film.

The sequel, from 2023, Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Versewas an even bigger financial success, managing to surpass its predecessor's entire run after just 12 days of release and ending its run with $690 million worldwide.

Beyond the Spider-Verse It was originally scheduled to premiere in 2024, but has been delayed to a date that has not yet been announced.

Lord and Miller will write the script for the third film. They will also be the producers along with Amy Pascal, Avi Arad, and Jinko Gotoh. Executive producers will be Aditya Sood and Christina Steinberg.
