A new day. A new record.
Spider-Man: Brand New Day from Sony Pictures already surpassed $2 billion dollars at the global box office, reaching this figure in 18 daysafter only three weekends in theaters.
It is the second film that has achieved it the fastest, only behind Avengers: Endgame which he did in 11 days.
Spidey's fourth solo installment starring Tom Hollandhas raised $785 million dollars at the domestic box office y $1.23 billion at the international box officeadding a global total of $2,022 million dollars.
Brand New Day It becomes one of only eight films in history that have entered the 2 billion club. It joins a select group made up of the following projects:
- Avatar (2009): $2,900 mdd
- Avengers: Endgame (2019): $2,700 mdd
- Avatar: The Way of Water (2022): $2,300 mdd
- Ne Zha 2 (2025): $2,270 mdd
- Titanic (1997): $2,200 mdd
- Star Wars: The Force Awakens (2015): $2,070 mdd
- Avengers: Infinity War (2018): $2,030 mdd
- Spider-Man: Brand New Day (2026): $2,022 billion currently
We have no doubt that Brand New Day It will end its run on the billboard as one of the highest-grossing films in history. Right now it is in eighth position as we can see in the ranking above, and it will continue to climb the ranks.
What will be the final collection figure? Some projections suggest that it could become the only film to reach a billion dollars in revenue at the American box office, surpassing the one that has come closest than any other: Star Wars: The Force Awakens ($936 million), and possibly reach $3,000 million at the global box office. If this is achieved, it would be the first to reach such a figure.
Crazy.
Directed by Destin Daniel Cretton (Shang-Chi, Short Term 12), Brand New Day It places us four years after the events of No Way Home, in which climax, Peter makes an enormous sacrifice to save the multiverse from the destruction inadvertently caused by Doctor Strange's (Benedict Cumberbatch) spell. To dispel the magic tearing the universe apart, Peter agrees to let everyone in the world forget his true identity.
Alone, grieving the death of his Aunt May (Marisa Tomei), and longing for his beloved MJ (Zendaya) and his best friend Ned (Jacob Battle), a vulnerable Peter lives a lonely life defending New York anonymously. This isolation triggers a mutation in his powers that gives him an organic network and heightened senses, and while trying to control his evolution, Peter investigates a series of crimes linked to a mysterious nameless figure (Sadie Sink).
