ABC continues to prepare audiences for the final season of its hit drama Station 19to the spinoff series of Grey’s Anatomy that will say goodbye with the seventh season.

This final season is shorter than usual and will consist of only ten episodes, due to the strikes of the Writers' and Actors' Union. The cancellation by ABC last December came as a surprise due to the ratings success of the drama, which with its sixth season became ABC's second most watched drama behind Grey’s.

You can find the official poster at the end of this note.

The series that follows the firefighters of Station 19 in Seattle, WA., will have new showrunners for the final seasonsince as previously announced, Krista Vernoff left her duties as showrunner of both Grey’slike Station 19, at the end of previous seasons. They take their place Zoanne Clack y Peter Paige as showrunners and executive producers.

The television drama created by Stacy McKee, is set in Seattle, and follows the lives of the men and women of Seattle Fire Station 19, a fire station located three blocks from Gray Sloan Memorial Hospital. It is therefore common that once or a few times per season, both series carry out crossovers.

The cast is made up Jaina Lee Ortiz, Jason George, Gray Damon, Danielle Savre, Stefania Spampinato, Barrett Doss, Alberto Frezza, Jay Hayden, Okieriete Onaodowan, Miguel Sandoval, Boris Kodjoe, Carlos Miranda, Josh Randall, Merle Dandrigey Pat Healy.

What awaits us when we return? Station 19? The season 6 finale left us with plenty of cliffhangers and questions, as well as an important character's life hanging in the balance after a tragic accident during a firefighter dance that most of the team was attending. We will also see the rise of Andy Herrera (Ortiz) as the new captain of the Station 19 fire team.

FINAL SEASON SYNOPSIS:

“Andy takes over as captain of the station while Jack's life hangs in the balance. The team is called into a hostage situation. “Natasha fights for her career and Maya and Carina make a decision.”

Station 19 is ABC's second most successful drama, behind Grey’s Anatomy. After the announcement of its cancellation, it was rumored that ABC's abrupt decision was in part to benefit the agreement signed with Ryan Murphy, creator of the series 9-1-1, whose theme is similar to that of Station 19. Fox sold 9-1-1 to ABC in recent months.

The seventh and final season of Station 19 will premiere its first episode on Thursday, March 14, 2024 on ABC and Hulu (in the US), also launching a new schedule. It will now be broadcast after Grey’s Anatomy, at 10 pm. Before, it was issued prior to GA. Only a crossover between both series is planned for this season. Its previous time slot, 8 pm, will be occupied by 9-1-1.

Before finishing the broadcast of its final season, Station 19 will air the 100th episode (has broadcast 95 in six seasons).

Stacy McKee, Shonda Rhimes, Betsy Beers and Paris Barclay are other executive producers of the series.
