HBO released the official teaser trailer for the fourth season of the acclaimed series created by Jesse Armstrong, Successionwhich will return in 2023 with new episodes, and lots and lots of drama.

In the sneak peek, available at the end of the note, we see that the tension between members of the Roy family is more present than ever: “Everything I try to do, people turn against me,” says patriarch Logan Roy (Brian Cox). “I am 30 meters tall. These people are pygmies, ”she says, while images of the rest of the Roy family are shown, who are now nicknamed “The rebel alliance”, and who appear prepared to finish off their father.

Cox, Jeremy Strong, Sarah Snook, Alan Ruck y Matthew Macfadyen, Kieran Culkin, y Nicholas Braun star in the story centered on the Roy family, a dysfunctional clan fighting for power and control within the global newspaper business.

Filming has been taking place in New York City since last June.


“The sale of media conglomerate Waystar Royco to technology visionary Lukas Matsson (Alexander Skarsgard) is drawing ever closer. The prospect of this seismic sale sparks existential angst and family division among the Roys as they anticipate what their lives will be like once the deal is complete. A power struggle ensues as the family weighs a future in which its cultural and political clout is severely reduced.”

The fourth season of Succession will consist of 10 episodes.

The first season of Succession, aired in 2018, became a small screen revelation, and was nominated for an Emmy in 2019 (in multiple categories), and recognized by the industry with the statuette for Outstanding Drama Series in 2020. Both Cox and Strong were nominated for Outstanding Lead Actor in a Drama Series, with Strong emerging as the category winner. Braun, Culkin, Macfadyen and Snook were nominated for Actor and Supporting Actress, respectively. Additionally, Armstrong won the Emmy for Outstanding Writing for a Drama Series, and Cherry Jones the statuette for her role as a guest star. Director Andrij Parekh was also recognized with the Emmy for her work behind the lens.

At the 2022 Emmys ceremony, Succession won several statuettes, including Best Drama Series, Best Supporting Actor in a Drama Series (Macfayden), Best Writing for a Drama Series, among others.

Adam McKay, Frank Rich, Kevin Messick, Jane Tranter, Mark Mylod, Tony Roche, Scott Ferguson, Jon Brown, Lucy Prebble, Will Tracy and Will Ferrell serve as producers on the series. Armstrong is the executive producer and showrunner.

Succession has become one of the key references for HBO, after the conclusion of extremely successful series of the premium network such as Game of Thronesy Veep.

The first three seasons of the series are available on HBO Max.
