Swinging Popsicle «Fennec!» – I think it's been a long time since I presented such an old album here – it's from the year 2000, but I just came across it. The trio Swinging Popsicle from Japan started in the 90s with their sounds, which were sometimes reminiscent of the early Cardigans and similar upbeat, airy indie music, and managed to gain fans outside of Japan. Their album “Fennec!”, whose cover I think is really great, is a great example of their ability to weave beautiful melodies with sometimes gripping, but mostly chill guitars.

Vampire Weekend «Gen-X Cops» – I've never had this well-known band from the USA on the blog before, if I'm not mistaken. Admittedly, I haven't followed their work that closely, but I'm very impressed with the new single and its 80s sound, especially since there are some breaks in it, which makes it interesting for me.
