Prime Video took advantage of his visit to Hall H of the San Diego Comic-Con 2026, to present the teaser trailer and official poster of his Prime Original series, Carrie created by Mike Flanaganbased on the author's iconic debut novel Stephen King.
In addition, he revealed the release date of the 8 episodes, for the Wednesday October 7, 2026under simultaneous launch in all territories where the platform is available.
The Flanagan series reimagines the story of Carrie Whitea misfit high school student who has spent her life secluded and overprotected by her domineering mother. Following the sudden and untimely death of her father, Carrie finds herself dealing with the strange landscape of public high school, a bullying scandal that tears apart her community, and the rise of mysterious telekinetic powers.
Summer H. Howell (Cult of Chucky) interpreta a Carrie.
It is described as “a bold and timely reinvention” from King's classic story. King's debut novel was published in 1974.
Flanagan es the screenwriter, showrunner, executive producer, in addition to director of some episodes.

“All I ever wanted was to go to school. I never did anything to them,” Carrie says in voice-over to the school bullies who are key to her story. “You tried so hard to pretend you were my friends. Why? Why didn't you? Why? I know things aren't easy for you either. They're not easy for any of us. And the worst part is that I really could have been your friend.”
The preview also offers a look at the infamous prom sequence… but in case you're not familiar with King's material, we won't do any spoilers.
The rest of the cast includes frequent Flanagan collaborators such as Kate Siegel, Michael Trucco, Katee Sackhoff, Rahul Kohli, Crystal Balinty Danielle Klaudt.

The television project of Amazon, marks another return for Flanagan to King's world, after adapting the author's works such as Gerald’s Game, Doctor Sleepand more recently, The Life of Chuck. In addition, he is currently working on the series adaptation of The Dark Toweralso with a home on Amazon.
The material was first adapted for the big screen in 1976, with the film directed by Brian De Palma and a cast including Sissy Spacek, John Travolta, Piper Laurie, Amy Irving, Nancy Allen, Betty Buckley and William Katt. The film became a horror hit that led to other projects, including a sequel, and a remake in 2013.
Flanagan and Trevor Macy are executive producers of the series, with Amazon MGM Studios producing.
