The fifteenth feature film of the filmmaker M. Night Shyamalanthe apocalyptic horror thriller, Knock at the Cabin of Universal Picturesofficially kicks off the marketing campaign by launching the first promotional trailer for the project, which will be released in theaters on February 3, 2023.

The film is a horror film of the subgenre “home invasion” that takes place during the apocalypse. It is an adaptation of the novel “The Cabin at the End of the World” by Paul Tremblay.

dave baptist (Army of the Dead, Guardians of the Galaxy), Rupert Grint (Servant), Nikki Amuka-Bird (Old), Ben Aldridge (Pennyworth) y Jonathan Groff (Mindhunter, Matrix Resurrections) make up the main cast.

Until before the release of the trailer, which you find at the end of the note, the details of the plot had been kept secret, however, Universal Pictures shared the official synopsis:

OFFICIAL SYNOPSIS:

“While on vacation in a remote cabin, a girl and her parents are taken hostage by four armed strangers who demand that the family make an unthinkable decision to prevent the apocalypse. With limited access to the outside world, the family must decide what they believe in before everything is lost.”

Shyamalan directs, produces, and co-writes with Steve Desmond and Michael Sherman. The script is based on the aforementioned bestseller written by Tremblay.

Knock at the Cabin is a Universal Pictures and Blinding Edge Pictures production, in association with FilmNation Features and Wishmore Entertainment.

Other producers include Marc Bienstock (Glass, Split), and Ashwin Rajan (Servant, Glass). Executive producers are Steven Schneider, Christos V. Konstantakopoulos, and Ashley Fox.

Apparently, this would be the second feature film of the agreement signed with Universal Pictures in September 2019, whereby Shyamalan committed to the studio to develop and direct two original thrillers. The first of them was the one starring Gael García BernalOldreleased in theaters in 2021.

Knock at the Cabin have theatrical release set for February 3, 2023 via Universal Pictures.
