Ted Lasso had a spectacular return to our screens through Apple TV last week.

The premiere of the fourth season accumulated 296.6 million minutes of viewing between August 4 and 5becoming the most watched launch in Apple TV historysurpassing what was achieved by previous seasons of Ted Lassoas well as other platform hits such as Severance y To manyaccording to data from Nielsen (via Variety).

Nielsen also reports that the season four premiere was the most-watched show streaming in the United States on August 5, with more than 200 million minutes of viewing recorded that day.

Season four sees the return of beloved coach Ted Lasso (Jason Sudeikis) to AFC Richmond, three years after leaving England.

This time, Ted takes on his biggest challenge yet: coaching a second division women's soccer team, created under Keeley and Rebecca's new partnership. Throughout the season, Ted and the team learn to act without thinking, taking risks in ways they never thought possible.

In addition to Sudeikis, other returning cast members include Hannah Waddingham, Juno Temple, Brett Goldstein, Brendan Hunt, Jeremy Swift y Andrea Anders.

Some of the new additions are Tanya Reynolds (Sex Education), Grant Feely (Obi-Wan Kenobi), Jude Mack (Back in Action), Faye Marsay (Andor), Rex Hayes, Aisling Sharkeyy Abbie Hern.

Sudeikis is the star, executive producer and co-creator.

Ted Lasso is based on a character Sudeikis played in a series of NBC Sports Premier League promos. Sudeikis developed the series with Brendan Hunt, Joe Kellyy Bill Lawrence; Goldstein, who plays Roy Kent, is another of the series' writers.

Sarah Walker and Phoebe Walsh joined as writers and producers for the fourth season.

Jack Burditt (Nobody Wants This, 30 Rock) is executive producer of the fourth season, along with Sudeikis, Hunt, Kelly, Lawrence, and Goldstein. Leanne Bowen, Jeff Ingold and Liza Katzer are other executive producers.

Warner Bros. TV produces the series along with Universal TV and Doozer.

Ted Lasso premiered the fourth season August 5. A new episode will be released every Wednesday, culminating with the finale on October 7. The fourth season will consist of 10 episodes, compared to 12 in the previous seasons.
