The Haunted Youth «Broken» – how about some upbeat DreamPop with a wave atmosphere? These are offered by The Haunted Youth, a band from, listen and be amazed, Belgium. In the course of the last few months they have released some very beautiful, melancholic tracks that are also upbeat, which have meanwhile culminated in the debut album «Dawn of the Freak». I can certainly hear a bit of Beach House & Co. here.
Cigarettes After Sex «Pistol» – the slowcore band from New York is back again. The new single is (as expected) very melancholic and atmospheric, and even though the trio around Greg Gonzalez isn’t really breaking new ground here (despite a slightly faster rhythm) and the sound is now familiar from CAS, it’s still a pretty song .
