The murderous monkey stalks new poster of 'The Monkey' by Osgood Perkins

In less than the month we will have in cinemas the premiere of The Monkeyof the screenwriter and director Osgood Perkins and the producer James Wan (Saw, The Conjuring).

The project adapts to the cinema the short story of Stephen Kingwith the support of the study NEON, that is given the task of preparing the audience by launching A new official poster.

The monkey, For its title in our market, it will be the second horror launch for Perkins in less than a year, after that of the acclaimed film Longlegsalso produced and distributed by neon.

The cast leads it Theo James (The White Lotus, The Gentlemen) In double role as the twin brothers Hal and Bill.

The plot focuses on Hal and Bill, who, after discovering his father's old toy monkey in the attic, begins to see a series of frightful deaths that occur around him. The brothers decide to get rid of the monkey and move on with their lives, distancing over the years. But when the mysterious deaths begin again, the brothers must meet to find a way to destroy the monkey forever before the lives of all their loved ones.

The poster is accompanied by a legend that warns: “The monkey who likes to kill our family … has returned.” You find it at the end of this note.

The rest of the cast includes Tatiana Mashlany (Orphan Black), Elijah Wood (The Lord of the Rings), Sarah Levy (Sheep's Creek), Christian Convery (Sweet Tooth), Colin O’Brien (Wonka), y Rohan Campbell (The Hardy Boys).

The Monkey It is a short horror story that appeared in Skeleton Crewa 1985 collection that also included The Mist, The Jaunt, The Raft, Survivor Type, The Reachamong others.

Neon premieres The Monkey February 21, 2025 in cinemas. In Mexico it will be distributed by Films heart.
